A place to connect for those who are pregnant
Pregnancy is such a unique phase of life and can be empowering and fulfilling but also overwhelming and emotional. For immigrant families navigating a new system of care, pregnancy can bring up a lot of questions, anxieties, and heightened feelings of isolation.
This virtual four-week group is a space for those who are pregnant to connect to one another, ask questions, and discuss a range of topics related to pregnancy and the transition to parenthood. The group is open to anyone who is pregnant - whether they are in the beginning of their journey or in those last few weeks before birth.
This is a peer support group and does not serve as a childbirth education course or as a source of medical advice or information.
Topics covered include:
The emotional ups and downs of pregnancy and postpartum
Relationships with partners, extended family, and friends—setting boundaries and asking for help
The transition to parenthood and shifting identities
Expectations, worries, and sources of support for the postpartum time
