You Are Not Alone — Find Your Community with Afloat e.V.

At Afloat e.V., as a non-profit organisation, we believe no immigrant mother*, father*, or caretaker in Germany should have to face the challenges of parenting and mental health alone.

Funded mainly by donations, our mom*-to-mom* and dad* peer-led support groups are more than just meetings — they are safe, welcoming communities where you can connect with others who truly understand your journey. Here, you can share your story, listen to others, and remind yourself that you are not the only one experiencing and feeling this way.

In line with our mission, these groups are designed to walk alongside you from pregnancy through every stage of parenthood, offering connection, understanding, and solidarity. Whether you’re navigating newborn days, parenting school-age kids, juggling peri/menopause, or just needing a space to breathe, Afloat offers a community that sees you and holds space for you.

Wherever You Are AT, We Are Here

Remember: You are welcome to move between groups as your needs change. Many of our participants stay with Afloat across multiple life stages, finding connection, strength, and solidarity throughout their journey.

Not sure which group is right for you? Read our blog post that walks you through how to navigate our offers and find the best fit: A Journey Through Motherhood* — With Afloat By Your Side

We warmly welcome anyone who considers themselves a mother*, father*, or primary caretaker — across all gender identities, family structures, and backgrounds. The gender asterisk * acknowledges that there is a wide range of gender identities beyond the binary.

Discovering Afloat has made a huge change for me as a mother*-to-be. Many doubts, many fears that I can now talk about with other mothers*.
I found what I was looking for: a place for sharing and personal growth, and where it doesn’t matter where you come from
